The Matcha Tokyo has significantly expanded in the Philippine market.
The Matcha Tokyo largest new flagship store opened at SM Mall of Asia on July 2, 2025. This establishment redefines the urban sanctuary. It seamlessly integrates minimalist Japanese aesthetics with Manila Bay’s serene backdrop, offering a uniquely crafted sensory escape.
A Fusion of Nature and Tradition at The Matcha Tokyo’s SM Mall of Asia Flagship

The Matcha Tokyo’s SM Mall of Asia flagship features an architectural vision. It masterfully blends natural elements, structural design, and cultural heritage. A thoughtfully crafted “karesansui,” or zen rock garden, stands central to the space. This distinctive Japanese feature symbolizes tranquility amidst the dynamic urban environment.
The interior design draws direct inspiration from the gentle undulations of Manila Bay, manifesting in free-flowing lines along walls and counters that echo the movement of waves. The main counter, artfully curved to resemble a bay, positions the traditional tea ceremony as the focal point of the expansive area.
A central green zone, with tall trees and lounge seating, adds to this. A man-made skylight illuminates it, creating the serene impression of sunlight filtering through a forest. This thoughtful design fosters profound tranquility, inviting patrons to pause and relax. It effectively blends a cafe visit with a meditative, immersive experience.
Exclusive Culinary Offerings Elevate the Experience
Beyond its striking visual appeal, this new flagship introduces a range of exclusive menu items, marking a notable expansion of The Matcha Tokyo’s culinary repertoire in the Philippines. For the first time, savory Panini are available, presented in six distinct flavors, alongside a discreet seventh option for those seeking a unique discovery. Selections include Chicken Teriyaki (P295), Vegetarian (P295), Tuna (P295), Turkey Ham Avocado (P395), Smoked Salmon (P395), and Pastrami (P395).
Sweet selections include refreshing Yogurt Bowls in Blueberry Mango (P395) and Strawberry Banana (P395) flavors. The dessert menu also features unique creations like the Ensaymatcha (P280) and Mont Blanc Toast (P395). Additionally, find Steamed Bread with Butter in intriguing variations such as sweet potato, matcha, and shoyu.
Interactive Experiences: Engaging the Senses
The 60-seater flagship debuts interactive Matcha and Hojicha Experiences, each priced at P595. These sessions let guests actively whisk their own tea and pour their lattes. Each experience includes a dessert sampler: a cookie butter Basque cheesecake, matcha madeleine, warabi mochi, and a butter cookie. This transforms a typical cafe visit into an engaging and educational endeavor.
The Matcha Tokyo is strategically situated on the 3rd Floor, Main Mall, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City, poised to become a premier destination for individuals seeking a curated blend of refined taste, sophisticated design, and authentic Japanese tradition.
