Filipino Streetwear Brand Conceit Builds Confidence and Self-Love Through Minimalist Design

July 4, 2025

July 4, 2025

Conceit is a Filipino streetwear brand that turns the idea of “confidence” inside out. Founded in 2020 by CEO Sam Jacinto and co-founder Kim Mark Dacallos in the middle of the pandemic, the label set out to help people feel good in their clothes and celebrate self-worth without waiting for anyone’s approval.

Jacinto chose the name “Conceit” during a difficult breakup, when he decided to focus on self-love. He saw the word—often used as an insult—as the perfect banner for unapologetically recognizing one’s value.

The brand’s first move was online. It offered high-quality black-and-white shirts, steering clear of loud graphics. Every peso earned went straight back into the company, and growth followed customer feedback and instinct. While many Philippine streetwear labels rely on bold prints, Conceit leaned into quiet confidence: minimal, emotional pieces created for wearers who prefer to show their intensity from the inside out.

Designing a new drop starts with a mood board. Jacinto treats each collection as a chapter in the brand’s story, not just another product launch. The next release—the Archive Series 1990 #NORULESSUMMER capsule—carries a ‘90s spirit while staying true to the brand’s understated look.

Community drives everything. Jacinto hears from students who save up for their first tee and from longtime fans whose shirts, after two years, look even better than the day they bought them. That loyalty led to a physical space: Conceit’s first concept shop at Spatio in Opus Mall.

The flagship opened on June 29. Host Liza Guillon welcomed media guests, Gen-Z content creators, and devoted supporters from 3 PM to 7 PM, while DJ Vant kept the energy up. Visitors posed at a beach-inspired art wall and photobooth, then explored the latest Archive Series pieces.

As Jacinto told the crowd, “With Conceit, we don’t try to be everything to everyone. We stay quiet, minimal, and intentional. Our clothes aren’t for impressing others; they’re for expressing yourself.”
