LOOK: ‘Lumpia Queen’ Abi Marquez Wins at 2025 WIBA in Cannes

May 28, 2025

May 28, 2025

The food content creator brought Filipino flavors to Cannes, rocking a show-stopping terno inspired by everyone’s favorite: spaghetti.

‘What if we wrap your favorite dish in a lumpia wrapper?’ That’s the kind of offbeat, brilliant idea that launched Abi Marquez from TikTok foodie to global star. Her creative spins on Filipino comfort food have clearly been winning the hearts and palates of Filipinos—and honestly, they’re just as addictive as a plate of freshly fried lumpia. From dessert-inspired rolls to savory remixes that defy tradition, Abi’s flavor-packed content has taken the internet by storm and left followers hungry for more.

Hence, it’s no surprise that her unique approach to food caught the attention of millions—and even one of the world’s most famous chefs. Yep, that’s the Gordon Ramsay. During his visit to the Philippines, Abi had the chance to meet him and serve up her now-iconic lumpia twist on his signature Beef Wellington. We don’t know what’s more mind-blowing: the fact that she dared to lumpia-fy one of the most technical dishes in the culinary world or that Ramsay actually tried it. Talk about guts and glory.

Abi Marquez Wins Best Food Blogger at 2025 WIBA

Well, Abi’s viral videos haven’t just racked up millions of views. They’ve also landed her major accolades. In 2023, she was named TikTok’s Creator of the Year for Food. By 2024, she’d already been featured in Forbes “30 Under 30 Asia” and even scored a James Beard Award nomination in the Social Media Account category, which is basically like getting an Oscar nod in the foodie universe. And now, she’s added another cherry on top: winning Best Food Blogger at the 2025 World Influencers and Bloggers Awards (WIBA) in Cannes, France.

Abi Marquez WIBA 2025

Held during the most anticipated Cannes Film Festival, the WIBA ceremony put Abi on a global stage. And she made sure to turn heads not just with her win but with her unforgettable look. Never one to miss a chance to serve a lewk—and a theme—Abi showed up in a red Filipiniana inspired by Pinoy-style spaghetti. Designed by Jo Rubio with details by Pam Ricarte, the custom terno featured pasta-like fringe, “Kain Tayo” embroidery on the train, kutsara (spoon) earrings, and a variety of spaghetti-themed nail art. Oh, and let’s not forget her pasta box handbag. Because when it comes to fashion, Abi doesn’t just dress to impress. She dresses to express her love for food.

In a heartfelt Instagram post after the event, Abi wrote: “WON Food Creator of the Year at the WIBA Awards during the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Still CRAZY to me that I’m in Europe for the first time and recognized for what my team and I have built with love, to be surrounded by creators from around the world AND to represent Filipino food on another global platform.”

Talk about a full-course moment.

And Abi’s recent win isn’t her only claim to fame. In 2024, she became the first-ever Filipino from the Philippines to win a Webby Award, snagging the People’s Voice honor in the General Social: Food & Drink category. This month, she also took home multiple awards at the 46th Annual Telly Awards, including wins for her TikTok series and her viral YouTube vlog, “Gordon Ramsay Doesn’t Like My Beef Wellington,” which now has over 800,000 views.

Known as the “Lumpia Queen,” Abi’s built her brand on wrapping up the unexpected. Peach mango pie lumpia? Yup. Ice cream lumpia? Been there. She keeps surprising fans with what she can fit inside that crispy golden shell. And it looks like she’s not stopping anytime soon. With over 4.4 million TikTok followers and 119.3 million likes (and counting), it’s safe to say she’s become one of the most influential food creators of her generation.

So, what’s next for Abi? Another wild lumpia recipe? A new collab? Maybe even her own food show? Your guess is as good as ours, but one thing’s for sure: whatever she’s cooking up next, we’ll all be watching (and drooling). Until then, let’s keep our forks—and our phones—ready. Because with Abi Marquez, the next bite is always a surprise.
