SB19’s ‘Pagtatag’ Documentary Drops on Netflix this Month

Ever wondered what it really takes to become the Kings of P-Pop? SB19’s Pagtatag docu is hitting Netflix soon, and it’s your all-access pass to their raw, real, and powerful journey.

A’TINs are still riding the high from SB19’s epic run in Taiwan. From performing at the Hito Music Awards to casually busking at Taipei Main Station and capping it all off with their emotional Simula at Wakas show, the Kings of P-pop made sure their Taiwanese fans felt the full force of their presence.

But if you thought that was the end of the excitement, think again. Pagtatag! The Documentary is finally coming to Netflix, and it’s everything fans—both OGs and newcomers—didn’t know they needed.

This documentary gives a raw, honest look into the struggles and milestones of SB19. It’s not just about the glitz of the spotlight, but the real, behind-the-scenes hustle that brought the group to where they are today. From navigating internal challenges to overcoming legal disputes involving their name and former management, Pagtatag lays everything out in the open. Whether you’ve been an A’TIN since day one or you just discovered Gento on TikTok, this film helps you understand exactly why SB19’s story hits differently and why fans of all ages love them.

Directed by Jed Regala—who also worked on the group’s I Want You and Freedom music videos—Pagtatag! The Documentary first premiered in theaters back in August 2024. It quickly became the highest-grossing Filipino documentary of all time. And now, after making waves internationally with screenings in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE, the UK, and even a slot at Japan’s Osaka Asian Film Festival, it’s ready to stream on Netflix starting July 23.

The film captures a turning point in SB19’s career—during the Pagtatag EP era—and documents the major shifts the group faced, including their departure from their longtime agency, ShowBT. Such a personal move of taking control of their future. With the formation of their own company, 1Z Entertainment, SB19 stepped into the next phase of their journey as full-fledged artists and entrepreneurs.

Throughout the documentary, you’ll see moments of joy, exhaustion, and everything in between. It’s the kind of transparency that fans don’t often get. Justin shared that the film felt “less scripted, more real,” while Pablo opened up about experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. Ken, on the other hand, emphasized how the documentary serves as a bridge between the group and their fans—making their connection feel even more genuine.

Pagtatag! is the second part of a trilogy that began with Pagsibol in 2021 and closes with this year’s Simula at Wakas. More than just a music story, the themes in Pagtatag! centered around mental health, empowerment, and the fight to stay true to yourself despite all odds. These are the kind of messages that resonate with a generation facing its own set of battles, online and offline.

SB19’s Global Momentum

And just when you think SB19’s 2025 is already stacked, it’s about to get even busier. After the Taiwan stop, the group is heading to the U.S. for their July tour dates, followed by shows in Singapore, Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah, and more. They’re also planning stops in Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong. Basically, they’re not slowing down anytime soon.

So, if you’ve ever been curious about how SB19 became who they are—not overnight sensations, but artists forged through years of hard work and resilience—Pagtatag! is your front-row pass to their journey. It’s a celebration, a confession, and a statement all rolled into one.

Mark your calendars for July 23, and don’t miss your chance to stream SB19 documentary on Netflix. The kings of P-pop are ready to tell their story. Are you ready to listen?
