Kathryn Bernardo’s ‘A Very Good Girl’ is Now on Netflix!

A chapter may have closed, but Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly de Leon continue to blaze paths with their blockbuster Star Cinema movie, A Very Good Girl. This time, the dark comedy thriller has hit the online streaming giant Netflix, allowing more people to watch the exemplary performances of the two premiere actresses of the country and the quality of work that Filipinos are capable of doing.

The film was also released in the US in October, with several screenings all over the country. As the Golden Globe and BAFTA Award nominee Dolly de Leon puts it: “I’m really excited for the upcoming release of ‘A Very Good Girl’ in North America. Released on December 27, A Very Good Girl landed on the top trending topics on X (formerly known as Twitter). Directed by Petersen Vargas, the film follows the story of Philomena Angeles, or Philo, a young socialite seeking retribution against Molly Suzara, the affluent CEO who terminated her employment years ago. In this quest, Philo methodically infiltrates Molly’s social sphere to extract information capable of tarnishing her reputation. Unfortunately, the narrative unfolds with Philo experiencing internal conflict, grappling with the delicate balance between moral principles and the pursuit of justice.

Aside from Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly de Leon, the dark comedy thriller written by Marionne Dominique Mancol, Daniel Saniana, and Jumbo Albano also stars Angel Aquino, Kaori Oinuma, Jake Ejercito, Chie Filomeno, Gillian Vicencio, Donna Cariaga, Ana Abad Santos, Nour Hooshmand, Althea Ruedas, and Natania Guerrero.

A Very Good Girl has earned a total of P100 million within two weeks of its box office release—and now, it continues to trend with its online release. The recently awarded actress of the 2023 Asia Artist Award, Kathryn Bernardo, shared how honored she was to be part of this project and hopes that it will open more opportunities for Philippine cinema. “This is my first time experiencing this, so this is something new for me, for Star Cinema, and it’s such an honor to be part of this experience.
