Don Papa Rum is riding a new wave with Don Papa Alon, a fresh spiced rum expression inspired by the Philippines’ coastal rhythm and the kind of community energy that turns any hangout into a shared moment.
Don Papa Alon captures the coastal feeling in a bottle

Don Papa has always been rooted in the Philippines, but this time the brand “turns its gaze to the coastlines that define island life,” where conversations stretch longer and togetherness feels effortless.
For Don Papa Rum Marketing Manager Angeline Manahan, the goal was bigger than flavor. “With Don Papa Alon, we wanted to capture not just the flavours of the islands, but the feeling you get in those communities… that deep sense of pride, warmth, and bayanihan that defines us as Filipinos,” she shared.
That “feeling” lands in the liquid. Don Papa Alon is infused with coconut, jackfruit, and warming spices, drawing inspiration from Ginataang Langka, a comforting island dish that’s rich, familiar, and very Filipino. The result is described as a “creamy, unctuous spiced rum” with a lush tropical profile. In other words, it’s giving golden-hour energy. Think seaside sundowner vibes, but in a glass.
A Proudly Pinoy release that spotlights craft, culture, and an easy serve
Don Papa Alon’s story goes beyond what’s poured. To mark the release, the brand paired select personalities with a special bayong collaboration, reinforcing Don Papa’s commitment to Filipino creativity and local talent.

The bayong was made in partnership with Bayongciaga, a Negrense brand founded by Jav Villaruel that reimagines the traditional bayong as a modern design icon. “This partnership is close to my heart. It’s two Negrense brands coming together to celebrate our roots, our people, and the craft that defines us,” Villaruel shared.
He also framed “Proudly Pinoy” as something active, not performative: “Proudly Pinoy for me is not just a battle cry or a statement but also a movement to support and be proud to be a Filipino, of things Filipino, of places Filipino and of products made by Filipinos.”
That line hits, because it’s exactly what Don Papa Alon is doing. It’s modern, but it doesn’t disconnect from where it came from.
And if you’re wondering how to drink it, Don Papa Alon keeps the vibe uncomplicated. Aside from enjoying it neat or on the rocks, the brand suggests a simple coastal-inspired serve with ingredients that feel instantly local.
Make it at home: Mix 50ml Don Papa Alon, 100ml fresh coconut water, and a squeeze of calamansi or lime, then serve over ice.

Brand Ambassador Audrey Gustilo explains why it works: “When we lean into simplicity and fresh local ingredients, we allow the Filipino story to come through more clearly. It’s familiar, comforting, and deeply ours.”
At the center of it all is the idea that the best things aren’t always the fanciest. They’re the moments we share. As Jo-Ann Ramos, President of Don Papa Rum, Philippines, puts it: “With Don Papa Alon, that story is a reminder that community and craft are what truly make us rich.”
As of January 28, 2026, Don Papa Alon is positioned as a new discovery for both casual drinkers and rum fans who want a bottle that feels proudly Filipino, from flavor to craftsmanship. It’s available in Landmark and online via Booze.ph and boozy.ph, with wider retail availability coming soon.
