‘Fake Love’ Joins BTS’ Music Videos That Garnered More Than 1.2 Billion YouTube Views!

Cheers to another YouTube milestone!

Needless to say, BTS remains one of the most incredible South Korean boy groups that continues to hype up the charts—making history with every release they make, as a group or individually. This time, the chart-topping boy group reached another milestone as the music video of their 2018 hit single Fake Love surpassed 1.2 billion views on April 24.

This makes Fake Love the sixth music video by BTS to hit 1.2 billion views on YouTube, along with DNA, Boy With Luv (featuring Halsey), Dynamite, MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix), and IDOL. Fake Love is part of the third full-length album of BTS, Love Yourself: Tear, which was first released on May 18, 2018. To date, BTS is the only group in the world to have achieved this kind of milestone.

And as if that’s not enough, closely following behind are Blood Sweat & Tears, which has 900 million views, and Butter, which is at 800 million views.

Quick Look Back: BTS ‘Fake Love’ Era

Almost five years ago, BTS members RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook earned the attention of the world because of their captivating Love Yourself: Tear release, which bagged none other than the top spot of the Billboard 200 for 15 consecutive weeks! Being the first South Korean boy group to top the chart, right then and there, they became one of the most sought-after groups in the music industry.

Fake Love, which was the first official single from the Love Yourself: Tear album, debuted at number ten on the Hot 100 chart. Its popularity grew to such an extent that it became ubiquitous, with the group’s seven members’ melodies filling your ears wherever you went. With all elements perfectly blended—hip-hop, dance, pop, K-pop, and rap—Fake Love nabbed the title as the first K-pop song to have made it to the Top 10 of the Hot 100.

Not only that, but Fake Love also became the third K-pop song to have successfully established its name in the region, along with K-pop pioneering musician Psy, who introduced the infectious Gangnam Style and Gentleman.

To celebrate this milestone, the group released a commemorative poster. Bring in some nostalgic good vibes and watch Fake Love once again here!
