OXGN Just Turned Budots Into a Global Streetwear Statement

August 14, 2026

August 14, 2026

Some sounds belong to the streets, and OXGN just made sure the whole world hears them. THE FINAL ROUND, the Philippine streetwear brand’s newest 2026 campaign, fuses budots and hip-hop into one track, then builds an entire fashion story around it.

Launched on August 5, THE FINAL ROUND rolls out under the banner “Local Sound. Global Recognition. Streetwear Expression.” It’s more than a tagline. It’s the whole thesis behind the campaign, one that puts music first, movement second, and lets OXGN’s clothing line follow naturally after. The rollout centers on a reimagined budots x hip-hop fusion track, created with international DJs SGAMO and Jarreau Vandal, and pays tribute to budots pioneer DJ Love and the sound’s roots in Davao.

A Sound Born in Davao, Now Going Global

Budots didn’t start in a studio. It started in Davao’s grassroots community, pioneered by DJ Love and shaped by the people who danced to it first. For decades, it’s stayed close to Filipino street and party culture, evolving alongside the communities that built it.

For THE FINAL ROUND, OXGN didn’t just sample that sound. The brand teamed up with SGAMO and Jarreau Vandal to reimagine it entirely, blending budots with hip-hop into a fusion track that anchors a performance-driven campaign film. That track becomes the emotional core of the whole rollout, connecting music, movement, and eventually, fashion.

Cathleen Cotioco, Brand Director of OXGN, explains the thinking behind it: “We wanted to show that Filipino streetwear can stand confidently beside global style movements while still staying close to the people it was made for. The collection takes AMEKAJI inspiration and translates it through OXGN’s local lens. Creating fashion and merchandise that feel elevated, relevant, and competitive on a global scale, but still reachable for young Filipinos.”

Three Drops, One Streetwear Story

THE FINAL ROUND doesn’t launch all at once. Instead, it unfolds across three collection drops in August, September, and October, each one building on the campaign’s music-and-movement narrative before shifting focus to the clothing itself.

The collection pulls heavily from Amekaji (アメカジ), the Japanese reinterpretation of American casual style that reworks vintage Western workwear and military staples through a distinctly refined lens. Expect relaxed silhouettes, camo prints, and textured fabrics running through both the men’s and women’s lines. Prices start at PHP 899.00, keeping the collection accessible to the young Filipino audience it’s designed for.

OXGN operates under the Golden ABC portfolio and has built its identity around street culture, music, and grassroots community rather than corporate polish. THE FINAL ROUND leans fully into that identity, turning a genre born on Davao’s streets into a global streetwear statement, without losing the community that made it matter in the first place.
