M1ss Jade So Just Turned Into a Demon, and “BAPHOMETA” Is the Soundtrack

M1ss Jade So is back, and this time she’s bringing chaos with a purpose. Fresh off her RUBADGE win on Drag Race Down Under vs. The World Season 1, the Filipino drag icon has dropped her newest single, “BAPHOMETA,” alongside a devilish new look that’s already got fans talking. The track is out now under Offshore Music, and a music video watch party is set for September 5 at Hoesik, Makati.

If you thought her past releases were provocative, buckle up. This one goes further.

From Goat to Baphomet: The Story Behind the Look

The look started as a simple idea: dress up as a goat for the “Wildlife Couture” category on the latest episode of Drag Race Down Under vs. The World. But simple was never really M1ss Jade So’s style. Instead, she pushed the concept into something bigger and transformed into Baphomet, the polarizing occult figure, then made it entirely her own with “BAPHOMETA.”

“I like creating art that is provocative,” she shares. That’s not just a tagline, it’s practically her artistic thesis. Her catalog backs it up too, from the bloody sex-pop energy of “Power Top na Bratzy” in 2024, to the gritty underground sound of “ESOTERICA” in 2026, and the divine, more introspective “GODDESSA,” also released this year. Each project pushes her identity further, and “BAPHOMETA” continues that streak.

She was drawn to Baphomet specifically because of what the figure represents: the duality of feminine and masculine, light and darkness, mortal and divine. As she puts it, those ideas connect deeply to her own experience as a drag artist, where identity, beauty, and transformation are constantly in play.

Dark Themes, Playful Energy

What makes “BAPHOMETA” stand out isn’t just the imagery, it’s the tone. M1ss Jade So worked with co-writer Pette Shabu to make sure the song didn’t come across as purely sinister. Instead, they leaned into something messier and more fun. “We wanted it to have this mad, destructive but almost playful energy, where you’re having fun with something that is actually quite dark underneath,” she explains.

That balance between chaos and charm is exactly what’s made her career so hard to look away from. She’s not just performing shock value, she’s building a whole universe around it, one track and one look at a time.

“BAPHOMETA” is streaming now on all platforms, and fans who want the full experience can catch the music video watch party on September 5 at Hoesik, Makati. Given how fast her last few releases have moved, this is one drop worth catching early.
