UNIQLO and Magnum Photos Unite for Global ‘PEACE FOR ALL’ Photo Exhibition

September 18, 2024

September 18, 2024

UNIQLO and Magnum Photos have teamed up to launch a powerful new global initiative, the PEACE FOR ALL’ Photo Exhibition, which aims to shine a light on the profound impact of peace worldwide. Starting in London on September 13, 2024, the exhibition will travel to over 10 major cities around the globe, showcasing breathtaking moments captured by renowned Magnum photographers.

This project marks the intersection of two creative forces: UNIQLO’s belief in the power of clothing and Magnum Photos’ mastery in visual storytelling. Together, they’ve created an exhibition that brings to life the real-world impact of UNIQLO’s ongoing PEACE FOR ALL charity T-shirt project. This initiative, which has raised over $10 million since its inception in 2022, supports international humanitarian organizations such as UNHCR, Save the Children, and Plan International.

A Visual Celebration of Human Resilience

The exhibition features 63 photographs from Magnum’s top talents—Cristina de Middel, Lindokuhle Sobekwa, and Olivia Arthur. These images provide a window into the daily lives of individuals and communities in countries such as Vietnam, Ethiopia, and Romania, who have benefited from the PEACE FOR ALL initiative. Each photo reveals the resilience of people who’ve experienced hardship, from children in Romania participating in creative workshops to young girls in Vietnam whose education has been supported.

UNIQLO PEACE FOR ALL Photo Exhibition

Olivia Arthur shares her experience in Bucharest, Romania, where she worked with children affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine: “The most powerful tool that children have is their imagination. I wanted to create a space where these children could come and express themselves freely.” Her photos, along with the works of the other Magnum photographers, tell a story not just of survival, but of hope and creativity in the face of adversity.

More than Just a Photo Exhibition

As the exhibition travels across cities like New York, Paris, Tokyo, and Manila, it aims to inspire viewers to reflect on the value of peace and the power of collective action. The PEACE FOR ALL T-shirts, central to this initiative, are available in stores and online. Every purchase contributes directly to the ongoing work of UNHCR, Save the Children, and Plan International.

This global exhibition reminds us that peace is more than an abstract idea; it’s an achievable goal that can be fostered through the power of art, storytelling, and community action.
