K-pop sensation Sandara Park, fondly known as “Dara,” is back in the Philippines, and this time she’s taking on the role of host for the exciting new talent show, ‘Be The Next: 9 Dreamers.’

With Sandara Park hosting, this partnership between TV5 and MLD Entertainment offers an exciting opportunity for aspiring P-pop stars.

A Homecoming for Dara

At a recent press conference held at Novotel in Quezon City, Sandara expressed her joy about returning to what she calls her “second home.” “It feels so good to be back. This is always a wonderful place for me,” she shared, reflecting on her roots that began with her participation in ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Quest back in 2004.

After gaining fame in the Philippines, Sandara moved to Korea. There, she debuted as a member of the iconic K-pop group 2NE1. Since then, she has been a significant figure in K-pop. She has also made an impact on the Filipino entertainment scene. Sandara bridges cultures and inspires fans around the globe.

Guiding the Next Generation

In ‘Be The Next: 9 Dreamers,’ Sandara Park hosting will guide 75 talented participants from across Asia, all vying for a chance to become part of a new P-pop group. While she won’t be directly mentoring the contestants, she aims to embody the role of a supportive “good ate” (big sister), offering comfort and encouragement throughout their journey.

“I’m excited to help these dreamers get closer to Korea,” she stated. “I want to bridge them to the opportunities I had.”

The show features a stellar lineup of mentors. Among them are Park Woojin from AB6IX, Bang Ye-dam, Vinci of HORI7ON, and Hyebin from MOMOLAND. Renowned choreographer Bae Wan Hee and celebrated producer Bullseye are also on board. With such talent, contestants are set for an enriching experience.

Sandara’s influence extends beyond entertainment; she has played a pivotal role in the rise of K-pop in the Philippines. Her journey has inspired many fans to explore Korean culture, language, and fashion. “It’s a give-and-take,” she remarked, acknowledging how Filipino artists have also influenced her.

As K-pop continues to shape music tastes worldwide, Dara’s return to the Philippines is significant. It highlights the ongoing cultural exchange between the two nations. Fans are eagerly anticipating the show’s premiere on February 8. This event promises to be a celebration of talent, dreams, and the vibrant connections that K-pop fosters.
