Do You Hear the People Sing? ‘Les Misérables’ is Coming to PH in January 2026!

Theater kids, musical fans, and drama lovers, are you ready?

When we talk about stories that go beyond love, redemption, justice, and compassion, Les Misérables always comes to mind. It’s a cultural icon. The story blends history, struggle, and unforgettable music. It also features characters that stick with you for life. Jean Valjean’s journey is one for the books. The struggles of Fantine, Cosette, and the revolutionaries still reflect the realities of oppression that exist today.

Not only does this stir emotions, but, most importantly, it calls people to reflect and even take action. With powerful songs like I Dreamed a Dream and Do You Hear the People Sing, it reminds us that even in the darkest times, love and redemption are still possible. And now, we get to experience it all over again. Les Misérables is set to return to Manila in 2026 as part of its highly anticipated World Tour Spectacular.

Here’s Everything You Need to Know About ‘Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular’

Les Misérables Manila 2026

Les Misérables is celebrating its 40th anniversary. It will be staged once again in the Philippines. The show runs from January 20 to February 15, 2026. You can watch it at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City. This tour is brought to you by Cameron Mackintosh, Nick Grace Management, and GMG Productions. It promises a fresh take on the award-winning musical.

What makes this return extra special? The Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular will feature a breathtaking reimagining of the show. Expect all-new sets, next-level lighting design, a full live orchestra, and a team of over 110 talented individuals made up of both local and international artists and crew. It’s set to be a totally immersive experience for theater lovers old and new.

GMG Productions CEO Carlos Candal shared his excitement, saying, “We’re beyond thrilled to bring this monumental show back to Manila. This time in a groundbreaking, never-before-seen format. Filipino audiences have always shown incredible passion for world-class theater, and we know Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular will be unlike anything they’ve experienced before.”

This upcoming staging marks ten years since Les Misérables was last seen in Manila, also at The Theatre at Solaire. That production featured the Australian cast and ensemble, with Filipina singer Rachelle Ann Go taking on the emotional role of Fantine.

Les Misérables: A Story That Still Resonates Today

For those who aren’t too familiar, Les Misérables is a French musical that debuted in 1980, based on Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel of the same name. It follows the life of Jean Valjean, a man who spent 19 years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread. After his release, he sets out to live a new life, inspired by a bishop’s act of kindness.

But Valjean’s story is just one part of the bigger picture. The show also tackles the revolutionary period in France, with a group of students leading a powerful uprising against an unjust system. It’s a story about courage, survival, and the will to fight for what’s right.

Since its English-language debut in London’s West End in 1985, Les Misérables has become the longest-running musical in West End history. Over 130 million people across the world have seen the show, and now, it’s our turn once again.

Are you ready to feel all the ‘feels’ that Les Misérables brings? Whether it’s for the very first time or all over again, sign up for early access to tickets and get ready to hear the people sing in 2026.
