A Chorus Line Manila: Broadway Classic Returns to the Philippines in 2026

September 15, 2025

September 15, 2025

The landmark Broadway musical A Chorus Line is set for a major Philippine staging in March 2026, making it a historic production led by Theatre Group Asia (TGA) and an all-Filipino cast. The production will celebrate the musical’s 50th anniversary, bringing together local and international Filipino artists to honor its legacy and present a new interpretation for Manila audiences.

Production and Creative Team

Directed and choreographed by Emmy Award-winner Karla Puno Garcia, A Chorus Line Manila also features Tony Award-winner Clint Ramos as Overall Artistic and Creative Director. Garcia brings her Broadway experience to Manila. Ramos highlights collaboration between Philippine-based and overseas Filipino theater professionals. Executive Director Christopher Mohnani and Associate Choreographer JM Cabling join the team. Together, they promise a production that celebrates both dance and storytelling.

Story and Musical Legacy

“A Chorus Line,” created by Michael Bennett, follows 17 performers through a high-stakes audition for eight coveted spots in a Broadway chorus, and this Manila staging will capture every emotional moment.

The musical explores the personal ambitions, challenges, and vulnerabilities of theater’s unsung heroes: the ensemble dancers. With memorable numbers such as “One,” “What I Did For Love,” “I Can Do That,” “At the Ballet,” and “The Music and the Mirror,” A Chorus Line will showcase this blend of music, dance, and drama that has made it a classic since its original 1975 premiere.

The musical won multiple Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Its impact continues through revivals and adaptations around the world, and the upcoming Manila staging of A Chorus Line will look to blend authenticity with a contemporary local flavor.

Ticket Information and Show Dates

A Chorus Line is scheduled to run from March 12 to 29, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire. Ticket prices for the Manila production range from ₱900 to ₱5,500, with multiple seat categories:

  • The Spotlight: ₱5,500

  • Backstage Pass: ₱3,000
  • The Dressing Room: ₱2,500
  • The Callboard: ₱1,800
  • The Line: ₱900

Tickets for A Chorus Line in Manila will be available in phases: September 15–17 for BPI cardholders, September 18 for TGA early sign-ups, and September 19 for the general public via Ticketworld.

The Manila production runs on Thursday and Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Noteworthy Context

TGA’s recent works include Request sa Radyo, starring Lea Salonga and Dolly de Leon. They also staged the critically acclaimed Into the Woods. With A Chorus Line, TGA adds another milestone to its distinguished catalog. The organization remains committed to spotlighting Filipino talent and building connections between global and local artists. This Manila production of A Chorus Line embodies that mission.

Upcoming Announcements

TGA will announce further details on cast, ticketing, and event updates for A Chorus Line Manila closer to opening night. Auditions and production preparations are already underway. The creative team aims to discover new talents and engage with the Manila theater community for this historic staging.
