Global girl group KATSEYE has officially kicked off their debut in Manila, and the energy is off the charts!

Made up of six super talented members—Sophia from the Philippines, Lara, Daniela, and Megan from the US, Yoonchae from South Korea, and Manon from Switzerland—this is their first time in the country, and they couldn’t be more excited.

From the moment they arrived, KATSEYE felt the love from their Filipino Eyekons. During a press conference on September 17, Lara shared, “We already feel the warmth from everyone here. […] We are so happy to be here.”

KATSEYE are in town for a busy Manila debut schedule. They have performances, interviews, and a fan showcase. The showcase, titled Touchdown in Manila, has everyone excited.

Roots, Rhythms, and Big Dreams

Sophia, the group’s leader and the only Filipino member, wowed everyone by performing a Taglish version of their hit song Touch. She wanted to keep the essence of the original lyrics while celebrating her roots.

The girls also opened up about their big dreams, like headlining Coachella and performing at the Grammys and VMAs.

Their EP, SIS (Soft is Strong), focuses on sisterhood and empowerment. The girls emphasize that confidence and vulnerability go hand in hand. During the press conference, they shared their excitement about connecting with fans and highlighted the importance of their bond as a group.

Sophia’s mom, theater actress Carla Guevara, even mentioned the pact among the “KATSEYE moms” to always be present at their activities, saying, “We are so proud of our daughters.”

Fan Love and Viral Success

KATSEYE’s hit Touch is climbing the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 chart, and Sophia expressed her gratitude: “It’s so surreal being on the Billboard 100 here in the Philippines.”

The group has been loving the fan covers and dance challenges popping up on social media. “Every time we see it on TikTok or Instagram, we giggle and send links to each other,” Sophia added.
