Love, healing, and a little bit of chaos are coming this 2025—are you ready for it?

Have you seen it? Anne Curtis’ take on Ko Moon-young is definitely ‘giving’—and so are the rest of the cast and the overall vibe of the drama.

After months of anticipation since the official announcement in May, the first trailer for the PH adaptation of It’s Okay Not To Be Okay has finally dropped—and it’s safe to say, fans are buzzing. This fresh take on the iconic Korean drama has everyone excited, not just for the stellar cast but also for its modernized, locally relatable twist.

‘It’s Okay Not To Be Okay’ Drops Official Trailer

The one-minute trailer gives viewers a sneak peek into the gripping world of Emilia Hernandez (Anne Curtis), the show’s take on Ko Moon-young. Emilia is a famous children’s book author with an antisocial personality disorder. The teaser opens with her confidently striding past fans and reporters, then shifts to a chilling moment where she whispers to a child, “I wanna be a pretty witch.”

We’re then transported to a tense scene where Emilia stares at a knife and then to her signature butterfly hairclip glinting ominously. Enter Matthew Gonzales (played by Carlo Aquino), an adult with autism, who breaks down in tears, uttering the haunting line, “Ayoko ng paru-paro.”

The tension escalates as the trailer cuts to Patrick Gonzales (Joshua Garcia), Matthew’s younger brother and a psych ward caretaker, sprinting through a hospital hallway. The intensity peaks when Patrick catches Emilia’s blade mid-air, blood dripping from his hand as their eyes lock in a charged confrontation.

But it’s not all chaos. The teaser also gives us softer moments, like Patrick mustering the courage to visit Emilia in her office. “Ikaw ang dahilan kung bakit ako nandito,” he confesses. But true to her enigmatic character, Emilia playfully taunts him, “I’ve heard that pickup line so many times.” Patrick, undeterred, insists, “Gusto talaga kitang makita.” Her response? A mysterious “Bakit.” His answer: “Dahil sa mga mata mo.” Cue the lingering close-ups of their intense gazes.

Fan Reactions and Anticipation

Fans flooded social media with excitement following the trailer’s release. Netizens praised the haunting chemistry between Anne Curtis and Joshua Garcia, calling the adaptation “goosebumps” and “exciting.”

The original Korean drama starred Seo Yea-ji, Kim Soo-hyun, and Oh Jung-se. It became a global sensation during the pandemic. The show explored mental health in a heartfelt way. This powerful storytelling garnered critical acclaim. It even received a nomination at the 49th International Emmy Awards for Best TV Movie or Miniseries.

This adaptation marks Anne Curtis’ much-anticipated return to teleserye after a decade-long break. Director Mae Cruz-Alviar helms the project. She is known for hits like Can’t Help Falling in Love and Crazy Beautiful You. Expectations are sky high for this comedy-drama. The series will also be available on Netflix. This makes it accessible to both local and international audiences. Although the complete cast lineup is still under wraps, fans are eagerly counting down to its release in 2025.

So, are you ready for a journey of love, healing, and a dash of chaos? Stay tuned for more updates on It’s Okay Not To Be Okay—this exciting PH adaptation is bound to be a wild ride!
