“It’s definitely worth it,” says the ‘It’s Showtime’ host, as she makes her comeback to teleseryes with ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ PH remake after a decade.

If you follow Anne Curtis on social media, you’ll know she’s a big K-drama fan. She loves shows like Train to Busan and Goblin. In fact, she flew to Hong Kong in 2017 for Gong Yoo’s fan meet.

This year, Anne Curtis stars as a lead in the PH adaptation of It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. The mental health series is highly anticipated. ABS-CBN announced the cast, which includes Carlo Aquino and Joshua Garcia. The series will stream on Netflix soon.

Here’s What We Know So Far About the PH Remake of ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’

Anne Curtis returns to teleseryes after 10 years since Dyesebel. She stars in the PH adaptation of the South Korean drama, It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Curtis will portray the anti-social children’s book writer, Emilia “Mia” Hernandez. She shares her reasons for accepting the role.

“It’s definitely worth it. Siguro hindi naman ako mag-aaccept ng isang project if I didn’t feel it was worth leaving my family for a little bit to shoot. When they offered this to me, it was an instant yes because I love the original. I couldn’t let it pass,”

shared the actress during the project announcement at the Dolphy Theater.

Meanwhile, both Carlo Aquino and Joshua Garcia shared how honored they were to have been working with Anne. As per the I Love Izzy lead actor: “I’m excited because the last time we worked together, it was in Baler (2008), so it’s been a long time since then.”

Following the success of Can’t Buy Me Love, Mae Cruz-Alviar will direct the series with creative producer Henry King Quintain. Infusing Filipino flair, the drama will be shot in Negros province and Iloilo City. Additionally, the creators are also sourcing Filipino illustrators for talents, similar to how the original series incorporated illustrations from the lead actress’s children’s book stories.

A Story About Antisocial Personality Disorder and Autism

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay is an emotional drama about Mia, played by Anne Curtis. Mia has antisocial personality disorder. She falls in love with PatPat, portrayed by Joshua Garcia. PatPat is a caretaker at a psychiatric ward. His older brother, MatMat, played by Carlo Aquino, is autistic. PatPat selflessly looks after him.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay was originally led by Seo Ye Ji as Ko Moon Young, Queen of Tears’ Kim Soo Hyun as Moon Gang Tae, and Re8venant’s Oh Jung Se as Moon Sang Tae.

While the premiere date and additional cast members are still under wraps, excitement is already building for how the local adaptation will capture the profound impact of the original series. Is it truly okay to not be okay? Keep posted for more details.
