Missing the Zombie Chaos? ‘All of Us Are Dead’ Season 2 is Officially in the Works

July 24, 2025

July 24, 2025

The hit teen zombie series that took over Netflix in 2022 is back, with fresh faces like Lee Min-jae, Kim Si-eun, and Yoon Ga-i, as the outbreak spreads to new, even deadlier territory.

Who wouldn’t be on the edge of their seat when zombies are chasing you through the halls of your school, your best friends are turning into flesh-eating monsters, and you’re forced to fight for survival with nothing but pure will (and maybe a mop)?

All of Us Are Dead had us all biting our nails, crying over beloved characters, and yelling at our screens in 2022. It was definitely a full-blown rollercoaster of action, chaos, emotion, and heart. That’s why it blew up globally and became one of Netflix’s biggest YA hits.

Based on Joo Dong-geun’s popular webtoon, the show tapped into everything the new generation loves: high-stakes drama, complex friendships, gut-wrenching moments, and, of course, non-stop zombie mayhem. Within just 28 days of its premiere, the series racked up over 560 million viewing hours and held a spot in Netflix’s global Top 10 non-English TV shows across more than 90 countries. Totally record-breaking.

So, if you’ve been missing that kind of heart-racing energy, here’s some good news: All of Us Are Dead is officially coming back for Season 2!

What We Know So Far About ‘All of Us Are Dead’ Season 2

You’ve read it right. The zombie mayhem continues.

Netflix recently dropped a teaser video from the script reading, and yep, the OG squad is back! Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, and Lomon are all returning to reprise their roles. We’ll be diving back into the lives of survivors like Cheong-san, Nam-ra, and Su-hyeok as they try to navigate a world that’s far from safe—even after the outbreak supposedly ended. But guess we can all agree that in the zombie genre, “over” never really means over.

And that’s not all. New blood is joining the chaos, and they’re bringing fresh energy (and probably new trauma) into the mix. Season 2 will feature new cast members, including Lee Min-jae (Weak Hero: Class 2), Kim Si-eun (Squid Game Season 2), Roh Jae-won (Squid Game Seasons 2 & 3), and Yoon Ga-i (Undercover High School). Among them is Han Du-seok (played by Roh Jae-won), a key player from the National Intelligence Service, whose presence is bound to shake things up big time.

The series will continue to be helmed by directors Lee JQ (Daily Dose of Sunshine) and Kim Nam-su, with Chun Sung-il (King the Land) returning as the writer. Basically, the original dream team is back behind the scenes, and they’re ready to up the ante.

Season 2 is set to pick up where things left off, tackling themes like isolation, survival guilt, and what happens when the system fails its people. If you remember, Season 1 centered around a group of ordinary high school students trapped in their school after a science experiment turned their classmates into zombies. With the government cutting them off and chaos erupting around them, they had no choice but to grow up fast, make brutal decisions, and fight to stay alive.

Now, with new locations, new survivors, and an outbreak that might not be as “contained” as people thought, the stakes are even higher. The teaser tagline “unfinished desperate battle, the second story” promises more of the gritty, high-intensity storytelling that fans fell in love with.

While we don’t have an official release date just yet, anticipation is already sky-high. Will Cheong-san really return? Can Nam-ra hold on to her humanity? And how will these new characters change the game?

Well, one thing’s for sure: when Season 2 drops, we’re all going to be watching (probably with the lights on). Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to run from zombies all over again.
