Eugene Domingo, making her much-anticipated return to the stage, expressed her excitement about playing Jack’s Mother in Into the Woods. It’s both entertaining and meaningful.” Her rich theater experience includes performances in PETA’s Bona and ‘Night, Mother.

Arielle Jacobs, who has always dreamed of performing in the Philippines, shared similar enthusiasm. She said, “I am filled with joy and feel so lucky to bring my art back to where my family is from.”

Lea Salonga will portray The Witch, a character based on Dame Gothel from the Brothers Grimm’s Rapunzel. The musical intertwines the fates of various fairy tale characters, including Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel, as they cross paths with a Baker and his wife who yearn for children.

Director Chari Arespacochaga will lead the staging of Into the Woods Manila, while Clint Ramos will oversee the overall artistic direction, stage, and costume design. TGA describes this production as a “Filipino dream team,” highlighting a talented ensemble of performers, musicians, and choreographers.

The late theater director and producer Bobby Garcia played a pivotal role in assembling this remarkable cast. TGA acknowledged his contributions, stating, “Bobby was very instrumental in bringing together these great Filipino talents.”

Into the Woods Manila will premiere in August at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater. Although the production has not yet announced ticket details, it promises to deliver a magical experience that entertains and educates.
