Heads up, toy collectors. Time to snag that perfect addition for your collection!
Cute, nostalgic, and just plain fun. Collectors do know that Funko Pops are not just your ordinary collectibles. They are tiny bundles of joy that add personality to any shelf, desk, or cozy corner in your space.
Whether you’re into anime, Marvel, musicians, or even fast-food mascots in formalwear (hello, Jollibee in a barong!), there’s something uniquely satisfying about growing your collection one cute figure at a time.
If you’re the type who gets hyped for every new drop or loves that thrill of unboxing a new pop culture gem, this one’s for you. Big news just dropped: Funko is officially opening its very first Southeast Asian store, and it’s landing right here in the Philippines!
Here’s What We Know So Far About the Opening of the First Funko Store in the Philippines
This June, global pop culture brand Funko Inc. is opening its first Southeast Asian Funko-licensed store by local retailer Funtastik Enterprises Corp. Set to open at the SM Mall of Asia, the soon-to-open store will feature exclusive product drops, interactive zones, and all the merch your collector heart could ever dream of. Expect to find fan favorites like the classic Funko Pop! vinyls, the mini-but-mighty Bitty Pops, Loungefly bags, and even Manila-exclusive apparel you won’t get anywhere else.

As shared by Funko CEO Cynthia Williams: “We’ve seen great success with similar licensed stores in the Middle East, and we’re excited to bring that same momentum here. By deepening our local retail footprint and enhancing direct-to-consumer experiences, we’re eager to inspire connection, self-expression, and fun for our fans—wherever they are in the world.”
To note, the Philippines has consistently been one of Funko’s most passionate markets in Asia, with local shops like Filbar’s, Kramer Toy Warden, and Big Boys Toy Store already offering collector gold. But this store? It’s set to further the experience, designed just for Filipino fans.
Since launching in 1998, Funko has become a collector’s playground—starting with nostalgic toys and evolving into a pop culture powerhouse. They’ve immortalized everyone from anime icons and superheroes to musicians, athletes, and Filipino legends. Remember the Alexandra Trese figure? Or the Apo Whang-Od tribute Pop? Even Darna, Jo Koy, Jose Mari Chan, and Leni Robredo have been given the signature bobblehead treatment. Basically, if it’s iconic, there’s a Funko Pop for it—or there will be.
So, what’s in your collection so far? Maybe it’s time to make room for more.
Mark your calendars for June, because the ultimate Funko experience is about to arrive. Keep your eyes peeled for updates—and maybe start clearing a little shelf space now. Because you’ll never know what will be added to that collection.
