When was the last time you felt that thrilling, heart-fluttering kilig sensation—the kind that fills your stomach with butterflies and puts a goofy smile on your face? Whether you’re in a relationship or single, those moments are pure magic. They remind you of the excitement of being alive. They also remind you to stay open to love.

Well, get ready to feel it all over again! The hottest love team of this generation, Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, is back to making our hearts race with their latest rom-com series, How to Spot a Red Flag. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the digital age, this series explores love that can be confusing and sometimes deceiving. It follows a story that’s not just filled with kilig, but also incredibly relatable: online catfishing.

Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Viu’s ‘How to Spot a Red Flag’

After their hit show Can’t Buy Me Love, DonBelle is teaming up again. This time, they star in an exciting new Viu original series. It’s a joint project by ABS-CBN and Viu, produced by Dreamscape Entertainment.

Set to premiere on November 25, How to Spot a Red Flag promises to sweep viewers off their feet with a love story that combines humor, misunderstandings, and undeniable chemistry. This story brings to life the modern struggle of trusting love in a world where online profiles can sometimes hide secrets.

In the newly released trailer, we’re introduced to Cha Fontanilla (Belle Mariano), a strong-willed barista who’s definitely not one to fall for games. Cha meets Matt Flores (Donny Pangilinan) under dramatic circumstances when she confronts him, convinced that he’s been cheating on her. Why? Because she catches him handing flowers to another girl!

To Cha, it seems obvious—Matt is just another red flag guy. But as we soon learn, things aren’t as they seem. It turns out that Cha met “Matt” online. However, the guy she’s been chatting with wasn’t him at all. It was actually Matt’s close friend, JR Valdez, played by Jameson Blake. JR had secretly used Matt’s identity to win her over!

Cha’s world turns upside down when she discovers her mystery man isn’t who she thought. This realization kicks off a hilarious journey filled with misunderstandings and kilig moments. The spark between Matt and Cha feels almost inevitable. As Matt tries to win Cha’s trust, the situation becomes messy. Cha finds herself torn between her feelings for her online crush and the undeniable connection she feels with the real Matt.

What to Expect: Themes and Storylines

Will Matt be able to earn Cha’s trust and reveal the truth? Will Cha take a chance on love, even after being catfished? This “will-they-won’t-they” story is sure to keep you hooked and eagerly awaiting each new episode!

Besides the infectious chemistry between Donny and Belle, How to Spot a Red Flag features a lively cast. Joining the duo is Jameson Blake, who plays the mischievous JR. The talented cast also includes Christian Vasquez, Benjie Paras, Mylene Dizon, and Angel Aquino. Directed by the talented Dwein Baltazar, known for Third World Romance and Hello Stranger: The Movie, this series offers relatable humor, swoon-worthy romance, and an honest look at today’s dating challenges.

Let’s talk about the setting! The series is shot in the picturesque surf town of La Union. The scenes transport you to sandy shores, rolling waves, and stunning sunsets. It’s a place that makes falling in love feel effortless. You might even get ideas for your next vacation!

How to Spot a Red Flag is Viu’s first local original series in collaboration with ABS-CBN, following the massive success of the Philippine adaptation of The Broken Marriage Vow, Flower of Evil, and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim. With a plot that mixes humor, heart, and a touch of mystery, this series will become your next obsession.

Are you ready for the ultimate kilig experience? Mark your calendar for November 25!

Get ready to binge-watch a love story that will make you laugh, swoon, and maybe even tear up. DonBelle’s How to Spot a Red Flag reminds us that love can be complicated. Yet, it’s always oh-so-worth it.
