In this year’s celebration of the top animes, movies, and the talented individuals behind them, the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards will take place at the Main Banquet Hall of the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan. Hosting the event once again are singer-voice-actress Sally Amaki and TV personality Jon Kabira.
Bringing extra flair to the event, the 2024 lineup of celebrities and music artists set to hit the stage includes RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 10 winner Aquaria, Japanese actress, singer, and model Chiaki Kuriyama, Grammy-winning pop star Megan Thee Stallion, composer and musical producer Hiroyuki Sawano, Ms. Marvel actress Iman Vellani, Grammy-nominated artists Labrinth and Porter Robinson, and model-pro-gamer Vinnie Hacker.
Celebrated anime composers Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto are slated to perform the theme for the 2024 Anime Awards. Shing02, together with OMA and Spin Master A-1, will also be performing the opening song of the anime Samurai Champloo, titled Battlecry. Also appearing in the event ahead of their Coachella 2024 set are Japanese girl group YOASOBI and songstress LiSA.
Apart from her stint in Lisa Frankenstein, Liza Soberano has voiced Alexandra Trese in the Netflix-produced anime version of the renowned comic book Trese. Meanwhile, Ylona Garcia, who relocated to the United States to pursue her musical career and is now affiliated with 88rising, dropped the song Entertain Me two years ago—a track made in collaboration with Valorant to introduce their latest playable character, Neon, who also happens to be the first Filipino agent in the game.
As voted by fans worldwide and a global panel of judges, Chainsaw Man takes the lead in this year’s Anime Awards with an impressive 25 nominations. Following closely are Bocchi the Rock!, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Oshi No Ko, and Vinland Saga Season 2.
