BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ is back with a brand-new single—and this time, it’s for the big screen. Her latest track, Messy, just dropped as part of the official soundtrack for the upcoming racing film F1, starring Brad Pitt and Kerry Condon.
A Pop Ballad Built for the Big Screen
Released under Hollywood Records, Messy brings a slow-burning pop ballad energy that’s both raw and cinematic. Produced by Lostboy and Burns, the song explores chaotic love—the kind that’s all-consuming, flawed, but impossible to walk away from. It’s her first musical comeback since Rosie, her solo debut album from late 2024, and marks her debut on a film soundtrack.
The music video, which dropped alongside the single, is as striking as the song itself. Shot in Las Vegas, it follows ROSÉ through shadowy bars, flickering neon signs, and grand, glitzy theaters, with sharp cuts of footage from the film woven in. Parts of the Strip were even shut down for filming, underscoring the scale of both the music video and the movie it supports.
F1 is directed by Joseph Kosinski and follows the high-speed world of Formula 1 racing. Brad Pitt leads the cast as a veteran driver returning to the track alongside a rookie, with co-stars including Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem. The film is set for release on June 27, 2025, and F1: The Album—its soundtrack—is stacked with artists like Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, RAYE, Burna Boy, Peggy Gou, and Tiësto.
With Messy, ROSÉ steps into a new era—not just as a pop star, but as a cinematic voice. It’s polished, dramatic, and emotionally chaotic in all the right ways.
