The Fray Brings ‘How to Save a Life’ Anniversary Concert to PH

June 3, 2025

The Fray Manila concert marks their only Southeast Asian stop for their 20th anniversary tour.

There’s a reason why How to Save a Life still hits hard, even nearly two decades after it first came out. To those who resonate deeply with the song, it’s not just that regular song you hear on the radio or listen to over and over again on Spotify. It’s a memory, a moment, a feeling frozen in time.

Whether you first heard it in Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill, Scrubs, or Cold Case, it stayed with you. The emotional weight of the track continues to linger, even years later. The Fray didn’t just write a song—they captured the ache of loss and the silence after an argument. They also expressed the quiet hope that things can still be fixed. With lyrics touching on broken relationships, mental health, and fragile connections, the song speaks deeply. It’s no wonder How to Save a Life has truly stood the test of time.

Now, after more than a decade, The Fray is bringing all those feelings back—live. The band is officially making their long-awaited return to the Philippines on December 12 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. And we all know that this is not just any other concert. It’s one night of nostalgia, right in the heart of Metro Manila.

Here’s What We Know So Far About The Fray Upcoming Manila Concert

The band made the announcement earlier this week, sending Filipino fans into an emotional tailspin of excitement and memories. “Manila, it’s been too long! We’re so excited to be heading back to the Philippines,” they shared on social media. The Fray Manila concert is already shaping up to be an unforgettable night for longtime fans.”

It’s been 13 years since their last show in the country, but their songs have never left. Tracks like How to Save a Life and Never Say Never have become quiet anthems in Filipino households, slipping into playlists, radio airwaves, and even karaoke nights, thanks to their emotional honesty and raw, melodic storytelling.

And now, they’re coming back full circle.

The upcoming Fray Manila Manila concert is part of a global tour that has already reached North America, Europe, and Australia. But there’s something special about this particular stop. Filipino fans are known for their passion and wearing their hearts on their sleeves. The Fray’s music has always spoken directly to that kind of open, soulful energy.

Tickets for the show go on sale via TicketNet on May 30. While prices and packages haven’t been officially released yet by Midas Promotions, you can expect demand to be high, especially with this being their first return in over a decade—and the only show in the region. If you’ve ever cried, healed, or grown with their music, this night is for you.

The Fray Manila concert Seat Plan

The band, formed in 2002, is now composed of Joe King (vocals/guitar), Dave Welsh (guitar), and Ben Wysocki (drums), joined by touring musicians Kai Welch and Dane Poppin. It’s their first tour without original frontman Isaac Slade, who stepped away in 2022 to focus on his mental health and personal life. But the soul of The Fray remains very much intact.

New Music, Same Emotional Depth

Their most recent release, The Fray Is Back—a six-song EP that dropped in September 2024—is proof that their sound is still as honest and haunting as ever. Songs like Angeleno Moon, Same Thing, and Time Well Wasted feel like long, late-night conversations with an old friend. “We didn’t start out with any definitive expectations for this new material. We were just sharing ideas with each other and going on our own journey with the songs, and it became a unifying force that gave us new purpose and direction,” Joe King shared in a statement about the EP. And it’s that sincerity that has always set them apart.

Whether you were a teen crying to Look After You in your bedroom or you just discovered their music during a late-night spiral on Spotify, this concert is your chance to feel it all again—live and in real time. There’s something powerful about hearing the songs that shaped your heartbreaks and healing, surrounded by people who fully understand and share the same sentiments.

So, mark your calendar. Set your alarms for the ticket drop. This will be a night to reconnect with the songs that saw you through your messiest moments. A night for bittersweet memories, for singing at the top of your lungs, for quiet tears and loud feelings. A night to remember why music like this matters.
