Get ready for a quick and easy escape to paradise—fly from Cebu to Bantayan Island for just P888 each way! These new Bantayan Island flights will take you to the island in just 30 minutes!
Famous for its powdery white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, fresh seafood, and lively local culture, Bantayan Island has long been a favorite among both local and international tourists. However, the 4-5-hour journey from Cebu has kept some travelers from making the trip—especially those looking to make the most of their weekend.
Well, here’s some good news for you: Starting August 28, regular flights from mainland Cebu to Bantayan Island will resume! Operated by King Aces Travel and Tours Services Inc. (KATTSI), these flights will depart from Mactan-Cebu International Airport and run twice a week, on Fridays and Sundays, perfect for weekend getaways!
Your Much-Deserved Weekend Escape to Bantayan Island—Here’s Everything You Need to Know
Following the successful inaugural flight, visitors can now enjoy a quick 30-minute trip to Bantayan. The flight uses a 72-seater ATR twin-turboprop plane. This plane is similar to those used for flights to El Nido, Siargao, and Coron.
Unlike pre-pandemic days, the island is now accessible by direct flights. These flights make it easier to experience Bantayan’s stunning beauty and culture. No more long land and sea trips!
The first flight had over 50 excited guests on board, and according to MCIAA General Manager Julius Neri Jr., this move will be a game-changer for Bantayan. “It will drive the economy. It will boost tourism. And it will uplift the livelihood of the Bantayanonon.”
The inaugural flight offered seats starting at just P888, thanks to an agreement between the Cebu provincial government and KATTSI. The standard price for the flight is P2,995. However, the government lowered jet fuel costs. This allows the operator to offer a special rate. Governor Gwendolyn Garcia emphasized the importance of this affordable fare. She stated, “Accessibility is key to improving and hoping to soar as a prime tourist destination. The less time it takes for domestic and international tourists, the better.”
