Wasn’t able to visit the HYBE INSIGHT Museum in South Korea? No worries, James Jean is bringing the exhibit to SM Megamall.
Beyond the hype, the reality remains that BTS and the relatable music that they made have touched many lives, inspiring people—not only devoted fans—to keep moving forward with life. The boys have been known to have actively supported causes like the “Love Myself” campaign with UNICEF in 2018 and championed resilience during the pandemic in their 2021 UN Headquarters speech.
And the iconic boy group’s influence does not end there. Extending into the world of art, BTS’ music has transcended into an insightful wave of creative expression, evoking emotions and conveying powerful messages as crafted by renowned visual artist James Jean.

In May 2021, the Taipei-born award-winning American artist James Jean launched the Seven Phases Exhibition at the opening of the HYPE INSIGHT Museum in Seoul, South Korea. The artist’s remarkable talents have earned him accolades such as the Bronze Lion at the 2008 Cannes Lions Festival in France, a Grammy Award nomination for Best Packaging Design, and multiple prestigious Eisner Awards in California.
However—though received with much acclaim and anticipation—due to COVID travel restrictions in place at that time, many BTS fans and art enthusiasts missed the opportunity to see the paintings inspired by the members of the Grammy-nominated boy group.
To bridge this gap and bring this incredible experience closer to fans, the artistic collaboration between BTS and James Jean will be mounted on the fourth floor of Building A, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, from October 27 to December 3.
As officially announced on X (formerly Twitter) by HYBE INSIGHT: “Join us in Manila as we celebrate the artistry of BTS and James Jean at BTS X JAMES JEAN: SEVEN PHASES EXHIBITION. This unique exhibition will take you on a journey through artistry, creativity, and the world of BTS through the beautiful collaboration between the Grammy-nominated pop icon BTS and renowned artist James Jean.”
In addition to its showcase in the Philippines, the exhibition also made its way to the Galeria Hauptwache in Frankfurt, Germany, last June. As BTS is currently on hiatus due to mandatory military enlistment and the pursuit of individual projects, this event offers an exceptional opportunity for fans to immerse themselves in the world of BTS and James Jean’s artistry, providing a unique and meaningful experience during this period of the group’s temporary absence from the spotlight.Make sure to mark your calendars and stay inspired by BTS as you explore the mesmerizing BTS X James Jean: Seven Phases Exhibition in Manila, a true celebration of their artistic impact and creative influence. See you there, fellow ARMY!
