Good! To war, then. Are you Team Black or Team Green? That’s what HBO is asking among its viewers as it releases two new trailers for House of the Dragon Season 2. Set 200 years before Game of Thrones, this season kicks off the Targaryen civil war! Immersing viewers in a captivating tale of power, betrayal, and ambition in Westeros.

The two trailers for the upcoming House of the Dragon season shed light on the impending civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. The Black Trailer features Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, her uncle-husband Prince Daemon, and their forces of Dragonstone. Conversely, the Green Trailer centers on the King’s Landing team led by King Aegon II, his mother Alicent Hightower, and Prince Aemond.

HBO prepares for a gripping clash of power! Introducing contrasting perspectives and characters in House of the Dragon Season 2 trailers. Premiering on June 17, this eight-episode series continues from Season 1’s finale. It’s where Aemond kills Rhaenyra’s son, Lucerys, and his dragon.

As tensions escalate, the blacks and greens gather forces, dragons, and allies to prepare for the fierce battle. Additionally, the trailers hint at a return to Winterfell! The wintry stronghold of the Starks now governed by Cregan Stark in the prequel.

Adapted from George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon premiered in August 2022 with ten episodes. Its immediate renewal followed its positive reception from the series’ fans.

Returning to their roles in the Game of Thrones prequel are Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Matt Smith (Daemon Targaryen), Ewan Mitchell (Aemond Targaryen), Eve Best (Rhaena Targaryen), Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower), Steve Toussaint (Corlys Velaryon), Fabien Frankel (Criston Cole), and Tom Glynn-Carney (Aegon Targaryen).

Adding more tension to the series are newcomers! Including Tom Taylor (Lord Cregan Stark), Clinton Liberty (Addam of Hull), Jamie Kenna (Ser Alfred Broome), Kieran Bew (Hugh Hammer), Tom Bennett (Ulf), and Vincent Regan (Ser Rickard Thorne). Other new faces include Abubakar Salim, Gayle Rankin, Freddie Fox, Simon Russell Beale, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Phoebe Campbell, Bethany Antonia, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.

Martin serves as co-creator and executive producer alongside Ryan Condal, who also holds the roles of co-creator and showrunner. Executive producers include Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, and Vince Gerardis.

Still undecided on which side to choose? It’s a tough decision, isn’t it? You’ve got until June 17 to mull it over—and do keep in mind Daemon Targaryen’s warning to houses in Westeros that choose poorly: “Your house burns.”
