Social drinking runs deep among Filipinos, a people who thrive on joyous festivities, celebrations, and gatherings. This activity, deeply ingrained in their culture, strengthens close-knit relationships among family and friends. Moreover, it extends hospitality to strangers, fostering a sense of community and warmth.
In 2013, Filipinos earned the recognition of being the world’s third heaviest drinkers. It’s common to see groups enjoying drinks at makeshift tables while singing karaoke in some parts of the country.
But this love for drinking goes beyond mere consumption. It’s about the ingenuity and exceptional taste of Filipino-made beverages, from indigenous concoctions to innovative brews. These creations showcase the creativity and passion of Filipino mixologists, who continuously push boundaries and redefine the drinking experience.
