Results are in—and guess who dominated the fanbase category? All hail, A’TIN! Kicking off last July 5, Billboard held its annual Fan Army showdown, wherein fan armies enter a fierce battle fray to find out who is the strongest of them all.
Starting with 64 artists’ fan armies, 32 went down for the second round after earning millions of fan votes. Round 2 became even more closely contested, with numerous matchups remaining undecided until 16 fan armies secured their spots, thereby advancing to Round 3.
The semifinal round revealed the strongest fanbases for Cardi B, SB19, SEVENTEEN, and Shakira. Following five rounds of intense competition, the showdown featured SEVENTEEN facing off against SB19. And here we have SB19 reigning supreme for this year’s Billboard Fan Army Face-Off.
A’TIN Outvoted SEVENTEEN’s CARATs in Billboard’s Fan Army Face-Off
The fanbase of the groundbreaking Filipino boy group consisting of Pablo, Stell, Ken, Justin, and Josh emerged as the winner in the recently concluded Billboard Fan Army Face-Off with 51.1% votes against SEVENTEEN’s CARATs at 48.9% in the finals round.
Aside from these phenomenal artists, fans of EXO, Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, and TWICE also made their voices heard as they went up until the Quarterfinals. Other artists that were included in the lineup were BTS, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, and many other luminaries in pop, hip-hop, K-pop, country, R&B, dance, and more.
A’TIN now takes the crown from last year’s winner, STAYs—the fanbase of the South Korean boy group formed through the reality show titled Stray Kids. Prior to that, Super Junior’s E.L.F, T-ara’s Queens, and BIGBANG’s VIPs also held the same title in past years.
The members of the group immediately shared their warm regards and appreciation to their fans on their official Twitter account, saying: “Congratulations, A’TIN! You’ve once again proven the power that you hold. Maraming salamat!” Stell also aired a heartfelt video message sharing how they really appreciate all the efforts made by A’TINs. Justin also added: “Dahil itong lahat ay para sa A’TIN.”
The P-pop group behind the viral Gento, Mapa, Bazinga, and What? recently kicked off their PAGTATAG world tour—and even shut down Hollywood Boulevard for their music video from the historic El Capitan Theater and the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They have also appeared on the Los Angeles morning television program, KTLA 5 Morning News.
SB19’s US shows have been sold out, and the P-pop group is now heading to Canada with fans eagerly anticipating their upcoming performances and thrilled to continue supporting the group’s journey on the international stage.
