There’s some serious chemistry going on between the Filipina actress and the Thai actor.

Fans are still going wild over the onscreen pairing of Thai superstar Win Metawin and Valentina actress Janella Salvador. Getting us all in the lovey-dovey mood, 28 Squared Studios dropped the teaser for the highly anticipated film, Under Parallel Skies—and now, everyone’s excitement and kilig are on the roof! (Ma-sa-rap?!)

Helmed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, the creative mind behind the highest-grossing independent Filipino film, Kita Kita, the movie transports the audience to Hong Kong, immersing them in the lives of two individuals whose destinies are poised to change after an unexpected encounter. This collaboration was first announced on July 23, and since then, people have been eagerly anticipating how Janella and Win would bring life to this promising cinematic journey.

What We Know So Far About ‘Under Parallel Skies’

To start the love-filled month, the trailer for Under Parallel Skies was released, giving us a glimpse of Janella and Win’s characters in a budding romance. The video starts with Janella ‘saving’ Win from a rooftop, thinking he was about to jump. However, it turns out he’s just drunk and wants to feel like he’s flying. “I’m not gonna jump. I’m gonna fly because I’m a bird.”

The video then transitions to a woman advising Win to never let go of his happiness once he finds it. This was then followed by Janella’s voiceover saying, “It’s a sign that good things never last,” to which Win responded, “Good things may come to an end, but new good things will arise from endings.”

Bernardo shared that the film aims to explore the themes and experiences that unite people and celebrate unique identities and cultural traditions. Under Parallel Skies is set to premiere in April 2024.

To those who are unfamiliar, the 24-year-old Thai actor rose to fame through the BL series 2gether. He also starred in the Thai adaptation of Boys Over Flowers. While this film marks Win and Janella’s first film together, this is not the first time Filipinos and Thais have collaborated on a movie project. To recall, back in 2012, Star Cinema released Suddenly It’s Magic, starring Erich Gonzales and Mario Maurer, with the special participation of Baifern Pimchanok.

Rekindle moments that took your breath away and made your stomach flutter. Don’t miss Janella Salvador and Win Metawin’s Under Parallel Skies this April—get ready for all the feels! Stay posted for more details!
