Literally starting the year with a bang, Miss International 2016 Kylie Verzosa took to social media to announce her new “baby”: a shapewear brand called SOLÁ. Yes, the beauty queen turned actress is now a businesswoman!
After starring in the MMFF 2023 entry, Penduko, Kylie seems to have no plans of slowing down as she gracefully steps into the new year, unveiling her latest business venture. With an anticipated launch in 2024, she teased her followers with a captivating video, showcasing her brand’s essence, captioned: “Another dream come true! Happy New Year guys! I can’t wait to share with you my first business and baby, and what my team and I have been working on for the past months. At its core is to make everyone feel good and confident in their own body. Before unveiling it to the public, the beauty queen shared that she and her team went through numerous tests and wore the shapewear during various shoots and daily activities to perfect it for every style, shape, and curve. In a separate post, she added, “I feel that when I’m at my best self, anything is possible, and I wanted girls and my sisters to feel the same way too.”
Although the brand’s specifics are still under wraps and the product lineup remains undisclosed, fans and those intrigued by the beauty queen’s latest entrepreneurial venture can sign up on the website for updates or follow the social media accounts for an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming products.
In 2023, Kylie had quite a run of successes—she was named Tanduay’s 2023 calendar girl, bagged the Best Actress award for her role in The Housemaid at the Distinctive International Arab Festival Awards (DIAFA) 2022, and made a notable appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Not to mention, she teamed up with Matteo Guidicelli in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry, Penduko.
Apart from all these accomplishments, Kylie remains actively involved as a mental health advocate. To recall, she founded Mental Health Matters in 2017, an online support group that is now a non-profit organization that aims to raise awareness and remove the stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness. She has been known to promote a more compassionate and understanding society, emphasizing the importance of well-being and encouraging open conversations about mental health challenges—a commitment that goes beyond her diverse career endeavors.
