Say Hello to Thundr, The First-Ever Filipino LGBTQIA+ Community App that Will Redefine Your Dating Experience

Mare or Jowa? Here’s the perfect match for you!

Alright, let’s admit it: finding a partner these days is like navigating a maze. The dating scene? Total challenge, especially for those 35 and above. Ever noticed how traditional apps like Tinder, Bumble, and even Grindr are like, “Sorry, you don’t quite fit the vibe”? It gets even trickier for our LGBTQIA+ community members. The struggle is real!

Well, not anymore. Meet Thundr, the first-ever LGBTQIA+ community app in the Philippines that makes finding connections for ages 35 and up a breeze. It’s a fabulous place to meet new people, make fantastic connections, and live a life full of vibrant possibilities.

Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Thundr

Launched last January 31 at Salvatore Cuomo & Bar in BGC in an event hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race Philippines alum, Lady Morgana, the app was released to cater to those who are aged 35 and above—because “members of the LGBTQIA+ community, regardless of age, deserve a happy ending.”

Compared to other popular dating apps, Thundr does things a bit differently. First, the app has a no-rejection policy, which makes it chill for everyone. You can swipe through and decide if you’re vibing with someone as a friend (mare) or looking for something more serious, like a partner (jowa). Plus, here’s the kicker: Thundr adds a compatibility percentage to the mix! It’s all about building a solid foundation for finding the right person. How cool is that? Definitely a game-changer, right?

So, how does it work? Upon downloading the app, you are given the option to log in using either your account on Google, Facebook or your mobile number. Thundr will then send a verification and then ask a series of compatibility questions like: “Nagcancel si jowa nang last minute, ano ang Plan B?”; “Payday na. Anong dasurb mong gawin sa sweldo? Save sa bank o buy new clothes?”; and “Among your beshies, ikaw yung… Taga-spill ng tea o listening Marites?”

Yes, the questions are just as simple as that. Once done, you can continue building your profile. And you know what’s amazing? Aside from the typical GTKY form, the app also asks about your hobbies, star sign, political orientation, and personality type (Lion, Otter, Dog, or Beaver). By doing so, the app can determine who among the app users is compatible with your profile—and then you can start swiping!

And what’s even cooler? The people behind the app are also dedicated to giving back to the community. Yep, they accept donations, with proceeds going to local beneficiaries they’ve chosen. Whether you’re a subscriber or using the app for free, you can feel free to pitch in.

Oh, and here’s a sweet deal: donate at least P100, and you can avail yourself of the seven-day trial subscription. It’s like supporting a good cause and getting a little extra Thundr magic. Win-win, right? So, what are you waiting for? Download the app now and get to know more awesome people in the community!
