BINI Unlocks Another Achievement: Nominated for Best Asia Act at the 2024 MTV EMAs

The nation’s girl group, BINI, has earned a significant milestone with their MTV EMAs nomination for Best Asia Act at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.

2024 is the ultimate year for BINI to bloom. They were featured on the GRAMMY website’s 12 Rising Girl Groups list. They also made Teen Vogue’s 12 Girl Groups to Watch in 2024. Now, the Filipina pop sensation has achieved another milestone.

BINI has been nominated for Best Asia Act at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards. This is their first-ever EMA nomination. BINI is also the only Filipino act on this prestigious list!

BINI stands tall alongside other top Asian music acts, including K-pop girl group ILLIT, Indonesian singer Mahalini, Malaysian band Masdo, and Japanese girl group Sakurazaka46. The eight-member powerhouse—Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena—will compete for the coveted title, putting them in the spotlight on a global stage once again.

Voting is Now Open! Here’s How You Can Support the Nation’s Girl Group

MTV Asia has officially opened voting for the 2024 MTV EMAs. Fans can support their favorites by casting up to 10 votes each day. Voting is open until November 6 at 11:59 PM (CET). The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on November 10 in Manchester. The show will be broadcast live on November 11, Philippine time, via MTV.

Since the EMAs introduced the Best Southeast Asia Act category in 2013, Filipino talents have shone brightly on the international stage. For instance, past nominees include SB19, Ben&Ben, Nadine Lustre, James Reid, Moira Dela Torre, and Sarah Geronimo—who has been nominated three times and won the award in 2014.

This year’s BINI MTV EMAs nomination adds the nation’s girl group to this list of trailblazing Filipino acts making waves globally.

Before this international recognition, BINI had already made a mark in both local and global music scenes. Domestically, they’ve received nods from MYX Music Awards and Awit Awards. Furthermore, on the global stage, BINI made headlines by appearing on the Chinese variety show Show It All alongside fellow P-pop group G22.

In addition, in 2024, they became the first Filipino act to perform at KCON LA. Moreover, they were honored with the Voices of Asia Award by Billboard Korea, sharing the spotlight with P-pop kings SB19.

Formed through ABS-CBN’s Star Hunt Academy in 2019, BINI officially debuted in 2021 with Born to Win. Since then, they’ve reshaped the local music landscape with viral hits like Pantropiko, Karera, Na Na Na, Salamin, and their chart-topping latest release, Cherry on Top.

The girls are gearing up for even more exciting events, including their sold-out three-day Grand BINIverse concert at the Araneta Coliseum from November 16 to 18. Fans can also look forward to their performances at the Asiya Festival and Billboard Philippines: Mainstage.
