Mark the date—that’s January 19, 2024—and get ready to sing your favorite Coldplay anthem out loud.
Nope. This is not a drill. This is even more real than you can imagine. Concert promoter Live Nation Philippines just announced that the British rock band will be bringing their Music of the Spheres concert to the Philippine Arena on January 19, 2024.
What a way to start the year, right? And as early as June 19, tickets will already be available on pre-sale while the general sale follows on the next day. This is part of the highly anticipated second leg of the band’s Asia tour after the overwhelming success and sold-out of their upcoming Asia/Australia leg in November 2023.
Everything You Need to Know About Coldplay’s Upcoming Concert in the Philippines
To recall, Coldplay announced the first leg of their Asia tour with shows in November in Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and Kaohsiung. This time, on their second leg, Coldplay returns with more shows that will certainly leave fans wanting more.
Music of the Spheres world tour comes in support of Coldplay’s latest album release of the same name—which has been highly noted for exploring the possibility of putting together different types of music across the universe. This includes collaborations that featured Selena Gomez, BTS, Jacob Collier, and We Are KING.
Along with the Philippines, the multihyphenated Grammy-awarded band—consisting of Chris Martin (vocalist and pianist), Jonny Buckland (guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist), and Will Champion (drummer)—will also be making a four-day pitstop at the Singapore National Stadium and one show at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok. To recall, Coldplay announced its epic Music of the Spheres world tour way back in 2021, which began in March 2022.
The band behind hit singles Fix You, The Scientist, and Viva La Vida last performed in the Philippines in 2017 with their A Head Full of Dreams concert; hence, fans began making sensational buzz upon Live Nation’s announcement: “Get Ready to experience a technicolor spectacle as Coldplay returns to the Philippines! Be prepared to sing your favorite anthems from this amazing band who performs a crafted-to-perfection show, while championing sustainability.”
As most fans know, Coldplay remains dedicated to their commitment to making their shows sustainable, which includes making sure that their shows are powered by renewable energy—solar panels, power bikes, and kinetic dance floors, where fans can charge the show batteries to power the stage.
Not only that, but the UK band also pledges to cut tour emissions by 50% and plant one tree for every ticket sold. Making this environmental consciousness cascade to concertgoers, those who will attend Coldplay’s concert get a compostable, plant-based LED wristband that they can wear during the concert—making it an integral part of the light show concert. These are then collected after the concert for reuse and recycling purposes.
Aside from the most anticipated concert in January, Coldplay also announced their support acts for Yoasobi (Tokyo), Accusefive (Kaohsiung), Bunga (Kuala Lumpur), and Rahmania Astrini (Jakarta).Cool, right? Of course, expect nothing short of a sensational concert experience with Coldplay as they bring their electrifying performances and infectious energy to the stage. Don’t miss this chance to witness an extraordinary musical journey, and make sure to secure your ticket during the presale on June 19 (10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.) via coldplay.com.
