2024 has been a groundbreaking year for the P-Pop group BINI, with their chart-topping hits and viral dance challenges taking the nation by storm. As the “Nation’s Girl Group,” their influence extends beyond their performances and into the fashion world, particularly through the standout style moments of their main vocal, Maloi.
Their influence is not only felt through their performances, but also in their fashion. BINI is slowly becoming style superstars in their own right with their fun, feminine, and experimental clothing choices.
BINI Maloi, has some amazing fashion moments that deserve a spot on your style inspo moodboard. Here are some of her standout looks:
1. Y2K RENAISSANCE
The look that inspired this list. In the group’s recent trip to China, Maloi wore an ensemble that looks like it came straight out of FRUiTS magazine.
Maloi’s oversized jersey and knee-length plaid skirt combo is unexpectedly chic. Paired with white knee-high socks (or tights), black kitten heel mules, and an eskimo hat, it’s a look that works surprisingly well.
This look made its rounds on the internet, and it’s easy to see why. It’s the side of Y2K- one that leans more on Asian street style- that we would love to see more of.
2. GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN
Maloi recently was a judge for Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids segment of the noontime show It’s Showtime. During her stint, the idol wore multiple cute outfits that it’s hard to choose just one for this list.
One of our favorites is this “red riding hood” look: a white tank top and bubble mini skirt, accented with red tights, mules, and a red knitted Babushka-esque hood. It’s so quirky and weird, proving that Bini Maloi is not afraid to experiment with her clothing fashion.
3. COQUETTE IS THE NEW BLACK
Continuing on her TNT gig, Maloi became the poster girl for the coquette aesthetic, and she sported different takes on the trend.
Maloi’s balletcore-inspired outfit features a pink corset top and white ruffled mini skirt over bicycle shorts. The look is completed with pink ballet shoes, leg warmers, and hair ribbons.
She also had a more Western take on the trend. She wore a light pink bustier and white lace top, with a longer pink skirt with ruffle details and a pair of cowboy boots.
Maloi then contrasted more feminine aspects of the aesthetic with masculine elements. The combination of the pink moto jacket with the gray pleated a-line skirt, white socks and mules, accented with ribbons is another unexpected combination that works so well.
4. THE NEW PREPPY
Maloi also has a preppy side to her style- if her collection of clear specs is anything to go by.
One of the standouts is this Miu Miu look she wore for her 21st birthday shoot. The outfit consists of an embellished cardigan, brown leather skirt, high socks and heeled loafers. The peter pan collar, pearls, and headband is the perfect amount of girly quirkiness that we expect from the brand, and Maloi fits right in.
The shoot was styled by Ica Villanueva, who is also behind a lot of BINI’s outfits and many of the looks in this list.
5. RAINBOW BRIGHT
The idol has a penchant for the color red. It can be a bit more romantic and sexy, like this corset top and mini skirt combo, but she also wears the color in more edgier styles, like this latex number for BINI’s 2nd Anniversary photoshoot.
With that said, Bini Maloi is also not afraid to rock other fashion like this custom Cora and Cecilia crochet look that the group wore to the “Grand Pantropiko Day” at ASAP Natin ‘To.
Earlier looks also lean to bold colors; for example, this yellow tulle look from the Pit A Pat concept photos.
6. LADY SINGS THE BLUE…DENIM
BINI wears a lot of full denim looks, especially during their Salamin, Salamin era. For example, the custom Marian Zara looks they wore for the Billboard Philippines Women In Music Awards.
Maloi is also seen wearing the textile, especially in simple jean shorts and skirt styles. But one of our favorites is this airbrushed overalls paired with the Kawaii hair accessories and makeup, which makes us think, “Is she today’s Jolina?”
7. DALAGANG FILIPINA
Bini Maloi is not often seen in formal evening wear. Although, in the rare times she does, it’s always with her own take, such as this Francis Libiran look for a story in Metro Magazine. The butterfly sleeved top with the silky mini skirt has all the right nods to a classic Filipiniana but made more youthful.
8. FASHION OFF DUTY
Even in her most casual, Maloi’s sense of style comes through. She wears a simple cropped sweatshirt with jean shorts; but the addition of the white sock and red ballet flats, is the touch of weird that takes this rather plain look to an off but stylish one.
Maloi is definitely a style star on the rise. Her unapologetically feminine style – that is also part quirky and experimental – will surely inspire a lot of young fashion enthusiasts.
We can’t wait to see more music and fashion moments from Maloi and BINI!
